Bun in the Oven

foodie adventure though conception and beyond

Hello and welcome. I have been blogging about my food for just over a year now, and with a change of circumstance I decided that a new blog was in order. I have been training and working as a chef for the last eight months, but have decided as I head towards 30 (and two years of marriage) that it is time to think about having a family. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, but this seems the right time for both me and my husband.

I am very passionate about the ethics of food and believe that (far beyond mere sustenance) good food can be truly life enhancing.  Happy animals make happy food; and this makes tasty food which in turn makes happy people. So what I’m going to do is blog about recipes and experiences around the food and drink that help in the conception, pregnancy and the health of both me and my husband, and the health and well being of our child.

I hope our journey will not only interest those contemplating having a family, but also anyone concerned with their own health and who enjoys tasty food. I hope to entertain and inform, and am grateful of any interaction and feedback from all you lovely people in cyberland.

I am not a medical professional or a nutritionist. I am planning to have my first baby, so although all the info on this site is as accurate as I can make it, I suggest that everybody does their own extended research and consults their doctor before changing their diet or considering pregnancy. I hope you enjoy my writing, cooking and photography adventures :)
